Hey everyone! Exams are coming!!! Excited? Haha. Well, to get your mind off of those for a while, you should go to the household assembly this weekend!

Pro-Life Conference

This is Sarah, one of your lovely chapter heads! =D I just wanted to tell you that there is a Pro-Life Conference happening this Saturday in, none other than, MARKHAM! BELIEVE THAT! Because it's just in our neighbourhood, we want everyone of you to come by for this day's event. This will count as our GENERAL ASSEMBLY for this month.

I encourage you to go to this conference. As young Catholics, it is important to educate yourselves on the pro-life issue. This conference is more important than any pre-con, or any general assembly. The topics include "what do you look for in a mate?", family values, pre-marital sex, contraception, and other very important pro-life issues.

There will be an opening mass at 8:00am (so, try coming around 7:30am to register) and, we will be most likely be closing the day with another mass (which is at 5:00pm). Please please please come?

Preconference 2008

HELLO ALL!

So here are the full details for Metro East Precon 2008

What: Metro East Sector Precon 2008

When: May 10th 2008, 7AM to 7PM

Where: Agincourt Collegiate, 2621 Midland Ave. see map above!

Who: METRO EAST SECTOR, that means it includes YOU MARKHAM!

How much: $20, registration and waiver form soon!

Why: To worship, compete and gather with other fellow CFC Youths in the METRO EAST SECTOR!!!

Now that you know there are competitions, you're wondering WHAT KIND?

There are two types, Creatives and Sports

For Sports:
Men's Jr. Basketball (12 yrs. -18 yrs.)

Men's Jr. Volleyball (12-18)

Women's Jr. Volleyball (12-18)

Women's Jr. Basketball (12-18)

Dodgeball
Soccer
Floor Hockey

Touch Football

For Creatives:

Jr. Dance
Jr. Band

There is no limit to how many teams you can join, but most of the competitions are going to overlap one another so SIGN UP IN AN ORDER OF PREFERENCE/PRIORITY.
(ie, dance over sports)

IMPORTANT!!! You have to be "ACTIVE" in order to compete with any teams. (and you can only compete FOR YOUR OWN CHAPTER)

To be considered "active" you must attend AT LEAST TWO of the THREE events before PRECON:

That is:

Household assembly - weekend of April 19th/20th

Fellowship - weekend of April 26th/27th

General Assembly - weekend of May 3rd/4th

Each team is to be confirmed by the couple co-ordinators referencing to ATTENDANCE at these and past events. SO COME COME COME!!!

hey everyone!

it's Eddie Lamson here! It'll be my last post from this blog so I just wanted to inform you all of the changes in our cluster and chapter. Effective today, February 2nd, 2008, I will be moving to serve as chapterhead in Scarborough Northeast. Looking back 8 months ago, it is hard to believe how much I have learned and grown in such a short time. We have accomplished more for this chapter and this organization than I had ever imagined. The people I met and the friends I've made here have changed my life forever. My journey could not have been completed alone. And for that, I would like to give thanks, especially to God who has truly blessed me. To Sarah, and Mr. & Mrs. Canlas, thank you for your unconditional support. To the leaders of Markham York Region, thank you for showing me that I'll always have someone by my side. And to the members, I looked up to each and everyone one of you for inspiration; I will miss our great times. To my successor, I wish you all the best on your incredible adventure. To everyone, as I once told our leaders not so long ago, remember that there is only one Markham, and it will always be our home. It is a home that we created together and for that we should be truly proud of what we have accomplished in such a short time. Keep building on that home so that others may feel the same love and faith that you all have experienced. As for me, I will definitely be around, I'm just in the neighbouring chapter! My journey in faith is still going on. I cannot wait to see where the rest of my service will take me.
